Michael Crum owner of Magnolia Cycles stands with his custom road bike

Michael Crum

OWNER / FRAME BUILDER /
MASTER BIKE MECHANIC

Michael has been into bikes forever. He attended UBI in Ashland, Oregon and built his first custom bike in 1997. Since then, he’s worked in the bike industry all over the country. Landing in NWA in 2015, Michael wrenched in local bike shops, and in 2017-2020, was the founding faculty at Thaden School, where he developed the cycling education program. He managed quality control for Allied Cycles until, ultimately, deciding to open his own shop, Magnolia Cycles. The mission was to bring a new experience in bike service. This is a place where being different is a good thing.

Ben Neumann

BIKE MECHANIC / MTB SKILLS COACH

Originally from Indiana, Ben is a jack of all trades if you will; bartender, bar manager, bike mechanic, beer brewer and beer sales/distribution- all while riding and working on bikes as much as possible. He hasn’t owned a car since 2007 and chooses to go by bike. Over the span of seven years and three different states, Ben has wrenched as a bike mechanic, and more recently, completed his Level 1 BICP certified coaching in MTB skills instruction. He and his wife, Christy, enjoy riding to breweries and restaurants on their days off. Ben believes all aspects of cycling are awesome, but his current favorite is split between tracklocross and hucking an enduro bike.

Roni Ramos

CERTIFIED BIKE MECHANIC

Roni moved from Hot Springs, Arkansas in 2022 to attend NWACC's BIEA bicycle technician program, from which she graduated with honors in May 2023. She also holds a BA in Psychology and minor in IT. Roni’s curiosity and detail-oriented nature makes her a natural at bike mechanics. Coming from a large family (second oldest of 8!), her parents are from Oaxaca, which she highly recommends visiting! Bonus: Roni is bilingual and able to serve our Spanish speaking customers. When she isn't riding road or mountain, Roni enjoys live music and festivals, hiking, thrifting, reading, and meeting new people. Roni joined Magnolia Cycles in September 2022, when the shop first opened its doors! Now she fills-in at the shop as she instructs full-time for NWACC’s BIEA program!

Joey Acuff

CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE AMBASSADOR /
SHOP RIDE LEADER

An NWA native, Joey graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in finance. Moving to Fort Smith to work as a bank auditor, it was there that he discovered that cycling is a lot more fun than golfing and he hasn’t looked back since! Joey returned to NWA, joined a local club, and is now the treasurer. He’s also the volunteer coordinator for a local event promoter. When Joey isn’t on his gravel bike, he likes to keep it chill and enjoys reading, hiking, or messing around on some kind of instrument.

Monica Baumgartner

CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE AMBASSADOR

When Monica isn’t teaching kids, she’s either riding her bike, planting flowers, or reading a book. She’s a lover of all things outdoors! Monica enjoys learning new things and is excited to welcome and help all of our customers on the weekends!

TJ Stallbaumer

MAGNOLIA CYCLES BLOG CONTRIBUTOR

TJ has been on two wheels since he could walk on two legs. He grew up on dirtbikes and motorcycles, then transitioned to pedal-powered machines during the days when Slaughter Pen only had one "downhill" run. Like many people who ride bikes in NWA, he found mountain biking wasn't enough to take in all the scenery, so he started riding gravel, became weirdly obsessed with singlespeeds, built a 26-inch commuter out of a 90s Specialized and committed to learning every inch of the Razorback Regional Greenway. TJ attends to his day job as a writer, and also loves hanging out with his family. Follow him on Instagram if you want to.
